  e-Lybra® 8 Upgrade Service  
     
  We are pleased to announce that we can now provide a hardware upgrade for nearly all e-Lybra® 8 systems that have a serial number system that starts with the letters AP. This hardware upgrade will bring your AP series systems up to EL specification, and would also allow you to use the e-Lybra® 9 software in the Standard Mode.  
     
  This upgrade involves installing new hardware components, which enables the e-Lybra® unit to function with just one USB cable instead of the original USB cable + a separate serial/parallel cable. The system is then serviced, cleaned and tested before being returned to you with the latest software pack and a new user manual. Please bear in mind that this hardware upgrade is entirely optional and is in no way essential to the operation of the e-Lybra, but it does provide the system with improved accuracy and increased effectiveness.  
     
  Costs: The e-Lybra® 8 upgrade “which includes servicing and cleaning” is available for a fixed price of £250.00 GBP (plus all shipping costs); the upgrade is normally carried out within 24 – 48 hours of your system’s arrival at our head office in Malvern.  
     
  Please DO NOT return your system until you have been advised to do so by WDS (UK), as there are some important shipping and packaging requirements that need to be arranged beforehand. We will provide you with full details and all the necessary information you need.  
     
  How to identify if your system can be upgraded  
     
  Please look on the rear of the e-Lybra® system and check the serial number. If the serial number starts with the letters AP and is followed by a 5 digit number, this means your system will run the new e-Lybra® 9 software in (Basic Mode), it also means that your system can probably be upgraded to EL specification, which would allow you to run the new e-Lybra® 9 software in Standard Mode.  
     
  How to determine whether your system has already been upgraded  
     
  Please look on the rear of the e-Lybra® system and check the serial number. If the serial number starts with the letters EL and is followed by a 5 digit number, this means your system is already fitted with the most recent EL hardware and no upgrade is currently available. Your system will run the new e-Lybra® 9 software in Standard Mode  
     
  What If your e-Lybra® system has no serial number…?

  What operating system do I need…?  
     
  We now only support Windows XP (with service pack 2 or greater) and Windows Vista (all versions) with all new systems, so you will need to ensure that your PC operating system is running one of these two Microsoft platforms.  
     
  What happens if I currently use Windows 98 or Windows Millennium?  
     
  Microsoft no longer support Windows 98 or Windows Millennium operating systems, so if you are currently using one of these platforms then we strongly recommend that you upgrade or replace your PC with one that operates on Windows XP (with service pack 2 or higher) or Windows Vista. All our current hardware and software releases are designed to function only with officially supported Microsoft operating platforms.  
     
  Software Details  
     
  In terms of the supplied software, we have written a completely new installation program which also caters for a new software component (called a driver) which is required to allow the new electronic circuitry within the e-Lybra® unit to talk to your PC. The actual e-Lybra® application is the same as before, but it now asks for the serial number of the system to be entered into the appropriate field during the initial set up. The software can then detect if the e-Lybra® is connected or disconnected and a pop-up dialog box appears on the screen should the e-Lybra® become disconnected for any reason during a balancing session. We are also pleased to announce that the e-Lybra® software now fully supports Windows Vista; if your PC is running with Windows Vista and you don’t have the latest software (version 8.188 or above) then please contact us via tech-support@wds-global.com for more information, otherwise you will automatically receive the latest XP/Vista version anyway in your next general software update from us in 2008.
